Job Summary:
The primary role of the Summer Academy Office Assistant is to provide comprehensive support to the Summer Academy program across various functions. This position involves a range of tasks as outlined below, with additional responsibilities assigned by the Enrollment and Admission Officer and Enrollment Manager as needed. This is an hourly contracted role that offers flexibility, but the Office Assistant is required to commit to some hours in the Summer Academy Office. The job spans from October to early July, with the peak period being from February to June.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Handle general office duties, including answering phones, responding to emails, and providing excellent service to visitors.
- Support both the Enrollment and Admission Officer and Enrollment Manager with application processing, managing enrollment records, maintaining accurate databases, and communication with applicant families.
- Liaise with various offices to ensure a smooth launch of the Summer Academy Program, including Communications, Finance, Warehouse, TYPA, Facilities, Security, and Operations.
- Assist in the design and production of the annual Summer Academy course catalog.

- Process the enrollment and placement procedures for non-TAS summer applicants, including checking the receipt of tuition payment, course signatures/approvals, and collecting copies of foreign passports (non-TAS students).
- Assist the Enrollment Manager with the preparation of student rosters for the start of the Summer Academy program.
Adapt to the needs of the Summer Academy team to ensure high-quality services for students, parents, staff, and faculty. Maintain a flexible and positive attitude in a fast-paced work environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

JOB SUMMARY
The Financial Controller is a key leadership role within the Business Office at Taipei American School (TAS), responsible for managing and enhancing all financial and business operational functions that support the school’s mission. The position oversees core financial operations including accounting, budgeting, procurement, warehouse and student store operations (Tiger Shop), as well as compliance with Taiwan and U.S. tax regulations. The Controller also plays a critical role in implementing the business modules of an open-source ERP system, establishing effective internal controls, and developing sound accounting processes and workflows to ensure data integrity and operational excellence. This role ensures financial transparency, regulatory compliance, and high-performance support in alignment with best practices in U.S. independent schools.
Furthermore, the Controller upholds and fosters throughout the team all the qualities inherent in TAS’s mission. The Controller creates within the team an environment of open communication, trust, and teach ability. While mistakes will need to be quickly rectified, so that work outputs will continue to abide by the highest standards, mistakes will also be seen as an opportunity for growth and improvement, rather than an excuse for sanction. Job Summary:
The Senior HR Manager – EmployeeRelations and Compliance plays a crucial role in managing and overseeingvarious aspects of employee matters, wellness initiatives, policy managementand compliance within the HR department. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this position supervises the HR Officer responsible for vetting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations & Disciplinary Procedures:
- Managing Employee Complaints: Assisting the HR Director in handling complaints from employees, ensuring that they are addressed promptly and fairly.
- Mediating Disputes: Playing a crucial role in resolving conflicts between employees or between employees and management. This involves facilitating discussions and finding mutually agreeable solutions.
- Managing Disciplinary Issues: Overseeing disciplinary actions, which may include issuing warnings, suspensions, or terminations when necessary. Ensuring that all disciplinary measures are consistent with company policies and legal requirements.
- Assisting with Investigations: Supporting investigations into employee misconduct or other workplace issues. This includes gathering evidence, interviewing involved parties, and documenting findings.
- Legal Matters Related to Employees: Helping with legal issues that arise in relation to employees, such as compliance with labor laws, handling grievances, and ensuring that disciplinary actions are legally sound.
- Supporting Employee Exit Interviews: Conducting exit interviews to gather feedback from departing employees, which can be used to improve workplace practices and address any underlying issues.
Employee Wellness & DEIB Initiatives:
- Manage workplace-related DEIB initiatives and legal compliance.
- Oversee employee events planning and organization, wellness programs, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

Employee Background Checks & Verification:
- Oversee background checks, employment verification, and assist with reference checks.
- Maintain records and track employee evaluations and professional development.
HR Staff Supervision and Leadership:
- Supervise HR Officer – Vetting and Compliance, providing leadership and supervisory support to ensure the successful delivery of HR office daily routines, support systems, and HR processes are completed as per school policies and the agreed expectations and timelines.
- Provide guidance and support to HR team members as well as HR administrative support to the School Administration as required per the agreed designation when the HR Director is not available or away on leave.
- Provide effective administrative support relative to support staff employment compliance, employee assistance, leave entitlement, and eligibility inquiries and questions.
Employee Supervision and Professional Pathways
- Overseeing the support staff annual evaluation process to ensure that support staff performance is assessed fairly and consistently, including but not limited to timely conducting and documenting of regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support staff and or their supervisors based on their performance evaluations.
- Mandatory Training: ensuring that all support staff complete required training programs, including but not limited to identifying training needs and training programs, coordinating training and development sessions/activities, monitoring and tracking the completion of support staff training programs to ensure compliance.
Professional Pathways:
- Supporting the career development of support staff by providing opportunities for growth and advancement, including but not limited to professional development and training plans, implementing development plans that align with their professional goals and the needs of the organization.
- Assist HR Director in tracking the completion of professional staff professional pathways documentations (faculty and administrators).
- Professional Development Opportunities: Identifying and providing access to professional development opportunities such as workshops, conferences, and training programs.
- Oversee the support staff Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) that involve supporting the supervisors in developing and implementing plans to help support staff improve their performance and regularly reviewing the progress of employees on PIPs and providing ongoing support and feedback.

Job Summary:
The Lower School IT assistant is responsible for assisting in the integration of technology in all curricular areas and STEAM related instruction. Job Summary:
The Lifeguard / Aquatics Assistant plays a vital role in the safe operation and supervision of the swimming pool and aquatic programs. This role supports pool management, safety, facility logistics, program activities, and administrative operations under the direction of the Aquatics Director and Faculty.
Key Responsibilities:
Pool Management, Supervision and Lifeguard Duties
