Key Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: • Design and administer the delivery of a compensation package based on the Center‘s goals and strategy. • Review, prepare, and update job profiles, ensuring they are aligned with the established job evaluations and classifications. • Conduct salary and labor market research to define benchmarks. • Keep abreast with the new trends and best practices in the research and development field. • Ensure compensation and benefits practices comply with current country laws and regulations. • Manage life and health insurance policies and work with the Occupational Health and Safety Office for health and safety programs. • Develop and maintain electronic databases of compensation and benefit data. • Estimate the financial impact of compensation and benefit changes. • Oversee annual staff performance review, coordinate improvement plans, and monitor the progress of development. • Assist with preparing documents and records required for employment offers, contract negotiations, performance review meetings, and discussions with the NRS Committee. • Maintain confidential staff records, conduct periodic audits, and prepare, update, and present regular reports. • Propose the best ways to attract, retain, and engage employees, such as through recognition and rewards programs. • Undertake any other duties as required by the needs of the Center and directed by the supervisor. Required Qualifications: • Previous working experience as a compensation and benefits specialist for (5) years. • Prior experience in HR operations and knowledge of best practices. • Good understanding of job analysis and job evaluation. • Familiarity with current employment rules and regulations. • Hands-on experience with HR software (HRIS). • Hands-on experience with analyzing and interpreting quantitative and qualitative research. • Strong communication, analytical, and critical thinking skills. • Detail-oriented and able to handle confidential information. • MA in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or similar relevant field. WorldVeg seeks to recruit a PhD Student as a Part-time Research Assistant to join the Vegetable Diversity & Improvement Flagship at its Headquarters in Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan. The ideal candidate will have a skill for genomic resources for stress tolerance research in pepper. This is a nationally recruited position and is open for Taiwanese nationals only. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct genetic research and analyses aligning with our vegetable breeding programs. • Develop bioinformatics pipelines and perform bioinformatic analyses on genomics and transcriptomics data. • Contribute to the construction of a pepper pangenome. • Integrate omics data to develop markers, identify candidate genes, and select lines. • Contribute to writing scientific publications and presenting research results at conferences. • Provide bioinformatics training to other students. • Undertake any other duties as required by the needs of the Center and directed by the supervisor. Research Assistant (SHQ)_Project-Based

The Center has vegetable breeding programs in Asia and Africa, has strong connections to the seed sector, and is well-placed to develop improved cultivars with traits for tolerance to biotic and abiotic stresses, enhanced shelf life, improved nutrient content, and quality. The Center is strengthening its collaborations with advanced research institutions and universities and is currently modernizing its research infrastructure, including its Seed Health & Quarantine laboratory. WorldVeg seeks to recruit a Research Assistant to work in the Seed Health and Quarantine Laboratory at its Headquarters in Shanhua, Tainan, Taiwan. This is a nationally recruited position and is open for Taiwanese nationals only. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct research activities on methods for seed treatment that can effectively remove seed-borne pathogens. • Conduct research activities in seed-borne disease detection, identification, and characterization, including RNA and DNA extraction, PCR and RT-PCR, gel electrophoresis, symptom observation and recording, PCR primer design, sequence analysis, detection methods evaluation and optimization, etc. • Accurately document the research activities and progress, including collating and summarizing the results, and preparing research reports. • Perform any other duties as required by the needs of the Center and as directed by the supervisor.
