    • Senior Associate, Operational Risk

      The position holder as part of a team will be required to identify and assess risk as well as implement risk management best practices within the organization with the objective to prevent company losses due to operational failure.  

       

      Key Responsibilities:  

      • Assist in developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to operational risk framework.  

      • Assist in designing and implementing processes, tools and systems to identify, assess, measure, manage, monitor and report risks in order to better manage risk, including self risk assessment, risk indicators and operational incidents database.  

      • Work closely with business units and external vendors to identify and assess relevant risks.  

      • Assist business units in conducting risk and control assessment and key risk indicator monitoring, and ensure that operational risk level of the company is properly identified, measured and assessed.  

      • Assist in coordinating with business units to prevent and detect operational risk.  

      • Participate and provide advice on the development of new products and/or businesses with respective business unit manager from a risk management perspective.  

      • Assist in promoting risk awareness culture within the organization.  

      • Participate Ad Hoc internal projects.  

       

      Requirements:  

      • Relevant University Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Finance/Banking, Risk/Insurance or similar education. A combination of risk related training/memberships with professional risk institutions and experience may be considered in lieu of a relevant degree.  

      • At least 2 year(s) of post qualification working experience in operational risk management/internal controls related functions.  

      • Knowledge in Operational Risk Management.  

      • Experience in Risk Assessment Tools and Techniques.  

      • Basic understanding of Anti-Money Laundering.  

      • Good interpersonal and communication skills.  

      • Self-driven and eager to learn.  

      • Ability to focus on details with an inquisitive mind.  

      • Ability to multi-task efficiently.  

      • Ability to work with initiative autonomously and as part of a team effectively to deliver work efficiently, independently and with quality as per assigned time schedule.  

      • Written and Spoken Language(s): English. Additional Competency in  

      • Risk Management Certificate is advantageous.  

      • Experience in writing policies, procedures and reports is advantageous.  

      • Project Management skill is advantageous.  

      • Flow charting knowledge is advantageous.  

      • People who have Business Continuity Management experience are also welcome.

      Responsibilities  

       

      Operational Risk Management  

       

      - Plan, design and implement an overall operation risk management process for the organization in order to mitigate risk  

      - Develop framework, policies and system in order to better manage risk  

      - Monitor and assess the effectiveness and implementation of risk management processes across the organization in order to seek for continual improvement  

       

      Incident Management & Reporting  

       

      - Provide advice and recommendation to business unit managers in order to better manage the incidents  

      - Report and escalate of significant operational risk events in order to ensure management keep informed with the identified risk  

      - Maintain risk register in order to monitor progress status of risk items being identified  

       

      Business Continuity Management  

      - Plan and design business continuity framework in order to enhance the resilience of the organization.  

      - Advise and provide recommendation to business unit managers on business continuity plan in order to help ensure continuity of service delivery  

       

      Access Control  

       

      - Administer, assess, evaluate and facilitate respective department request on application and IT related request in order to ensure request made is valid for company benefit as well as data protection  

       

      People & Team Management  

       

      - Oversee team, providing leadership and guidance, planning and organizing resources in order to achieve departmental goals and objectives.  

      - Design, develop and sustain the Operational Risk team and employee performance, engagement and development in accordance to the Company‘s values, principles and policies.  

       

      Policy Governance  

       

      - Implement and Sustain the necessary internal Operational Risk guidelines to support the overall objectives set for services expected by the MD and the company‘s clients.  

      - Advise to other stakeholder‘s policies, processes and guidelines from an Operational Risk perspective which can impact onto services provided by the company to its clients.  

       

      Requirements  

       

      - Relevant University Degree in Business Studies/Administration/Management, Finance/Banking, Risk/Insurance or similar education  

      A Combination of risk related training/memberships with professional risk institutions and experience may be considered in lieu of a relevant degree.  

      - At least 6-8 years of risk working experiences in which 2-3 years of prior risk advisory, operational risk and business continuity management at a junior to mid management level  

      - Knowledgeable of risk management framework, methodologies and concepts/project management/client business industry  

      - Excellent written and spoken languages : English and another Asia Language, able to work in a mandarin environment  

      - Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills  

      - Experienced in managing and influencing stakeholders  

      - Possess solid understanding of risk management and sound operational risk practices  

      - Posses strong analytical skills with ability to reference against standards, highlight anomalies and assess key risk drivers  

      - Strong hand on experience in operational risk management framework, methologies and risk assessment

      - Write handling guide and procedural manual in order to mitigate the risk

      - Participate in IT related projects in defining business requirement and provide support in User Acceptance Testing  

      - Conduct risk review and assessment on departmental operational processes and flowchart in order to identify risks and provide recommendation
