Business Unit Controller - CBG

Design, manage and operate MIS & data analytics to support business operation 

Support new business initiatives through use of data analytics to develop and propose business strategies 

Collaborate widely with other stakeholders in the Bank in key digital and data initiatives.  

Work in close collaboration with the product, segment, and CBG Operation team to :  

• Support new Business initiatives & proposals for incorporation into product programs  

• Engage Business partners in regular ritual and identify risks/ opportunities and recommend relevant actions 

• Participate in digital initiatives and drive continuous improvements in analytics capabilities using both traditional and non-traditional data as well as enhancements in the use of business analytics tools. 

• Support platform conversion initiative; involve in code translation from SAS to Python.

Job Purpose  

1. To review the regulatory reports and ensure they are accurate and submitted to the regulators in a timely manner 

2. To support Head of Local Regulatory Reporting to reinforce the control environment, e.g. streamlining the processes, control framework, requirement interpretation, cleaning up data quality issues, guidance to team members, proper escalation, etc. 

3. Other ad hoc projects as needed 

Job Duties & responsibilities 

1. Reporting 

- Review and double check regulatory reports to ensure the accuracy before submission 

- Provide guidance to the team members for regulation/regulatory requirements 

- Coordinate the regulatory matters, e.g. new regulation/ requirements, process improvement, communication across the units 

- Conduct knowledge transfer, including regulation, regulatory requirements, reporting requirements, LRR system, etc. 

- Answer the queries or ad-hoc requirements requested by the regulators 

2. Control 

- Support to set up a proper control framework to improve the process of reporting 

- Streamline the processes to improve the efficiency 

- Detect data quality issues and find out the solutions 

- Keep regular tracking for monthly Finance Key Regulation Ratio Report 

- LRR system maintenance 

3. Others 

- New product/system implementation 

- System enhancement project 

- LRR system maintenance: updating report spec with new regulatory requirements or new products and also performing report UAT, UI UAT, LV, etc.

Job Duties & Responsibilities 

Responsible for managing and monitoring the cost across Tech and Support Units in DBS Taiwan, including integration cost management. 

Understand cost drivers across support units and provide analysis on cost management to track expense 

Partner BU/SU on country cost management initiatives 

Country Direct Billing Handling (Accruals, Budget review, supporting for regulatory) 

Partner with regional finance on New Cost allocation (NCA) database for cost efficacy analysis from product and process perspective 

Manage a team of 2 to drive expense support across Tech and Support Units.
