We are seeking a full-time Sensor Algorithms Software Engineer. In this role, you will be using sensor data to develop algorithms for feature used in Garmin products across multiple segments. Essential Functions 1. Design, implement, test, debug, release and maintain • Sensor algorithms that potentially utilize accelerometers, gyroscopes, magnetometers, and barometric pressure sensors in products (written in C, C++ and/or tooling in Python). • Speech algorithms in products (written in C, C++ w/ or w/o 3rd library) 2. Solve fundamental problems and implement algorithm solutions that are device and activity appropriate. 3. Evaluate various design tradeoffs including power consumption, cost, reliability and time to market. 4. Provide reliable solutions to a wide range of difficult problems using sound problem solving techniques. Basic Qualifications 1. Master‘s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience 2. Possess proficiency in writing embedded software in C and C++. 3. Possess the ability to develop algorithms and analyze data using Python. 4. Possess experience in algorithm development using sensor data. 5. Strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with TOEIC 750+.
