國立臺中教育大學進修推廣部國際教育中心(IE Program) 經營理念 臺中教育大學IE Program之成立發想，主要是希望讓孩子們在無壓力、快樂又自然的英文語境中學習，並提供孩子「安全」、「不用舟車勞頓」、「家長比較負擔得起」的美語環境。在課程設計上，亦經與外師們反覆討論後設定，期能達到「五育」並重，不單著重智力發展，同時注重其他重要的生活能力與態度。本中心聘任的每一位老師，都經過層層把關、絕不馬虎。我們也特別請求老師們「用心」、以沉浸式、美式教學模式(指重多元性、重思考、重創意、培養學生負責任、獨立等)來教導我們的孩子。 Philosophy and Feature of ESL Program We believe the happiest children are well-rounded, so we help our students to succeed mentally, physically and socially. As our students are increasing in intelligence, they are also developing fine-motor skills, expanding their creativity, and learning other skills appropriate to their level of development. Thus, our ESL program provides several fundamental courses (e.g., phonics/spelling/vocabulary, listening/speaking, & reading/writing/LA) as well as other supplementary courses (e.g., arts, PE, science, music, theater/presentation, monthly-theme activities/projects). Most importantly, we teach in such a way that encourages students to learn the material rather than to cram material into their heads. This allows the students to use language appropriately rather than to merely mock how someone else speaks. Our native English speaking teachers immerse the students in English. This helps the students to learn their next language the same way they learned their first language.
